Frankfurt with pedal power
– a guided tour on bicycles –
When I came to Frankfurt, I felt like a student again because there is no better way to travel around this “green city on the Main” than by bike
It’s amazing how much you can see in a short time around Frankfurt on a bike! The tour takes you along the 5.2 km green belt around the city centre, along the Main river, including the banking district, as well as the University Campus Westend and Grüneburgpark, passing many small memorials and sculptures.
The tour ends, depending on weather conditions and your request, at the new European Central Bank Towers in the Eastern part of Frankfurt.
Recently they opened a memorial (as part of the ECB) for the 10.000 jews deported from there to the concentration camps.
A pleasent place to stop to recharge the batteries is on the terrace of this cafe, which has a great view of Frankfurt..
